RIP Carl Ziegler

Post by Brian »

Carl ran the excellent website Old-Smithy and had an incredible amount of AK Bayo info way back before anyone else.

I am sure many of you knew him or chatted bayonets. Myself and Carl chatted a lot while Martin was writing his book, and we both contributed some info.
He passed away last week. He had a lot of health issues for a long time, and I guess it was inevitable.
A nice guy who had a raw deal. RIP Carl, you helped a ton of guys with their collecting.

I agree! One of the good guys! Old-Smithy was there help when I first started to collect military rifles and bayonets back in the 1960's. Always willing to share advice and information. Exchanged a lot of info and pictures over the years. He will be missed. Mike
