Just thought i would share a photo of my East German Type 1 & Type 2 Bayonets. Also looking to get a Transitionalone and a First Pattern one.
I saw someone overseas had a Bakelite Grip one he says is a East German with the grey frog and plastic scabbard but not sure how to tell if it is definitely East German or a Polish Bayonet with a German scabbard. i emailed out to him for more pics.
I can take some more pics if someone needs more.

If it has saw teeth and Bakelite grip it is likely either Russian or Romanian. Would have to see pictures. I have seen no indication that DDR ever made a Bakelite grip AKM bayonet.

if you mean the round backed type 1 handle with type 2 scabbard, you can probably get them here: http://www.redstar-militaria.de/en/Bayonets/
Martin, what is the material called than the majority of bayonets are made from?

Frank, the Type 2 Handle in Orange is Polyimide or Polycarbonate not Bakelite. I have one for sell right now from a frinds collection. It would be $115 shipped to you in NJ. These are fairly rare and were bought up by people who got the DDR AK74 kits that recently came in the country.
PM me if interested.
