The GDR imported in the early 1960s
AKM made in Russia and bayonets.
All 6X3 bayonets are from Ishevsk manufacture
The bayonets are from 1960-62
Acceptance stamps 32 and 29 in the oval on the crossguard. Pictures 5., 6., 7., 8.
Handle color is reddish brown, hand strap made of leather with two buckles. Carrying device with double hook.
The blade is slightly beveled under the retaining ring. Image: 9.
The original number was 4 digits engraved by hand.
Most of them were slightly revised or supplemented with GDR sheaths and accessories.
The numbers on the bayonets have been very neatly removed,,, rarely re-numbered with electro-engraving. Pictures 10., 11., 12.
The number on the scabbard was also neatly polished away, the polishing area was re-blued, so you can recognize these Rus.- DDR bayonets immediately. Image. 13.
Worn or damaged bayonets were repaired as follows.
Defective handle scales were replaced by black GDR handle scales, as well as according to the degree of damage to the pushers from the locking
Other bayonet parts were added from GDR production.

Die Bajonette sind aus der Herstellungszeit von 1960-62
Abnahmestempel 32 und 29 im Oval auf der Parierstange. Bilder 5.,6., 7., 8.
Grifffarbe ist Rotbraun, Handschlaufe aus Leder mit zwei Schnallen . Tragevorrichtung mit Doppelhaken.
Klinge ist unter dem Haltering leicht angeschrägt. Bild:9.
Die Original Nummer war 4 Stellig von Hand graviert.
Alle wurden meistens leicht überarbeit oder mit DDR Scheiden und Zubehör ergänzt.
Die Nummern auf dem Bajonetten wurden sehr sauber entfernt , , ,selten mit Elektrogravur neu Nummeriert. Bilder 10.,11.,12.
Die Nummer auf der Scheide wurde ebenfalls sauber wegpoliert die Polierstelle schwarz nachbrüniert, daran erkennt man diese Rus.- DDR Bajonette sofort . Bild. 13.
Abgenutzte oder beschädigte Bajonette wurden wie folgt Repariert.
Defekte Griffschalen wurden durch schwarze DDR Griffschalen erneuert , sowie nach dem Grad der Beschädingung der Drücker vonder der Arettierung
Andere Bajonettteile wurden aus DDR Fertigung ergänzt.

Thanks Gerhard! Very interesting information and pictures. Seeing how the DDR adopted the AKM 6X3 starting by using bayonets and scabbards from Russia. Then assembling them from mixed DDR and Russian components to finally producing their own. Very interesting and raises questions about the other ComBloc countries that also used and manufactured the 6X3 bayonets and scabbards. Did they go through the same development procedures? I also still have many questions about why some of the ComBloc countries never issued or manufactured the 6X2 bayonets. Others never issued or manufactured the 6X3 versions. Some never adopted or made the 6X4. Did they simply import them from other countries or not use them at all? Lots of questions, not many answers. Mike

Unfortunately no, then we would have more AK bayonet variants.

I'll summarize everything very briefly.
The Russians were very, very suspicious!
They only gave Poland and Germany a license to manufacture the AK at the beginning.
Bulgaria followed later.
Techechlovakia had taken a special route.
Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia were not trustworthy.
Albania left the pact in 1968 and was sponsored by China.

For the Warsaw Pact a uniform armament was provided.
Licenses for AK / AKM were only sold when the situation was stable and the heads of state loyal to Russia were there. .
For these reasons, Romania and Hungary did not manufacture an M.47 / 6X2.
Yugoslavia had to put up with K 98 rifles for a long time before they could buy the AKM license.
