Re: Russian Green Scout Knife nr-1

Fantastic purchase! One of the rarest of the rare. Well done, and a lovely example.
I think we're all looking for mechanisms for ours, never seen one turn up for sale. I still maintain these with the slot for the cocking lever are NRS, made to take the mechanism. The standard NR not having the slot ...

Re: 6x9-1 bayonet and 6x9 combat knife

I noticed we didn't have many pictures of the earlier version of this bayonet, so I am uploading a few for reference.
Main difference appears to be the crossguard. Not my bayonets, just taken off the net.

Re: I have added my first bayonet to my collection. If you can help me identify it, I would be very happy.

As others said, it's a Romanian "Type 1" 6X3 bayonet.
These used to be among the most common of the AK bayonets, but nice matching numbered ones are getting slightly scarcer over time, complete with Rubber insulator. Still fairly common, but a decent example.
If you are in Turkey, this would be the ...

Awesome set, and nice comparison. Thanks for sharing. Those NDM-86 bayos are getting ultra scarce.

Yes, but there are others reading this, and since the topic is already SA Romys, and his are gone...makes sense to mention it here. Not trying to trade to him ;-)

Took ages to find mine. Somehow I ended up with a spare booklet for one too....with serial on it. Wonder where that bayonet is in the world now.

Re: 6x9-1 bayonet and 6x9 combat knife

Nice example. Aside from the ones coming out of Latvia, I haven't seen any available. Of course can find them in Ukraine, but no-one will ship outside of Ukraine.
Still need to get one of these. Congrats, good pickup.

Re: Sad news

Where did you hear this? That would be an incredible loss. Oh no. William Michael "Mike" Boshart was one of the most helpful members of the AK bayonet collecting community.
I am devastated to hear that. RIP sir, and condolences to all who knew him.

Wanted: Kampo Ratnik 6X9-1 and Russian Pebble Grip 6H4

Still after a good condition 6X9-1 Ratnik bayo...can be used but good.
And also a plum matching number "pebble grip" early 6H4 Russian bayo.
Yes..I know both are like hen's teeth, but been offered both...just at prices an SA budget can't afford.
Trades I have towards one or both are:
Minty Romanian ...

Re: North Korean AK47 - AKM “transitional” Bayonets

Always considered them transitional, but can't say for sure why. I guess transitional and prototype are a fine line between them. Who knows why they decide on a new blade shape, but someone certainly did if they went to that blade shape for the Type 68's, so makes sense at some point someone came up ...

Ability to thank for posts

Hi all,
For a while now, I've regretted not having the ability to thank people for posts. Sometimes we don't just want to post a new repky to say "thanks" as it doesn't really add anything. But it's important that we acknowledge that we do appreciate the info given, and finally I found a decent ...

Here's all the info known on these: https://akbayonets.info/viewtopic.php?t=481
I believe the story of a Dutch dealer having these made in Vietnam through a Dutch contact of his, to use up surplus EG scabbards.
There seems to be little proof that these were used by the Vietnamese, but they are an ...

Forum Downtime

I apologize for the recent downtime.
According to the hosts, the OS was corrupted and they had to do some repairs and restore from a backup a few days ago.
May have lost a post or 2. Hopefully everything is stable now.
Thanks to Mike for the heads-up.
