Military police scabbard?

Post by buchtas »

There is a question among vz 58 bayonet collectors...
There have been few sightings of the black painted, tanned scabbards with claims that they are military police ones.
There is ZERO evidence that they existed, there is nobody who remembers ever seeing one but there are people who are confident that they existed and are original. Last year I traded with a collector for a grey chemical scababrd and he claimed, "oh yeah, i have like 3 different police scababrds" granted he is from slovakia and, ok, that place, regarding vz 58s is unmapped, like completely, nobody knows what happend with vz 58 bayonets there after 1993.
But still, the fact that ther is 0 evidence doesnt mean it did not happen at all, there might have been units that did that or even normal police departmen could have done that to half a dozen of scababrds just because someone wanted to and the armorer did, but again we have no proof.
Anyway that is something to think about.
I have few documented pictures i will share
They dont have any markings on them, they were either scrubbed or if "factory made" never stamped

To me and my colleagues, this smells like an attempt to fabricate something for the money, but who knows

I have pictures of 2 more black scabbards.
You can compare all the pictures and make your own conclusions.

Seems plausible to me.
